The Sphinx’s is a small shop which advertises itself as “catering to magic users of all stripes”. One half of the shop is dedicated to street and stage magic, sleight of hand and other varieties of non-arcane entertainment. The other half is dedicated to true magic, both arcane and divine. It is owned by a distinguished elderly human named Jarril the Enigma, a famous stage magician now retired into obscurity. He is seldom seen in Sphinx’s and instead leaves the running of the shop to his daughter, Tanith.
The shop usually has a stock of various sleight of hand aids and mechanical magic tricks and props. They also stock a small selection of potions, reagents for potions, blessed water, holy symbols and occasional magic items.
Tanith keeps the shop tidy and well-organized. While she is tolerant of her father’s flair for the dramatic, she decorates the shop conservatively and dresses to match, usually in shades of green and brown. She is willing to haggle over prices and the shop frequently has a daily special of some kind or another.
